Joined the EIBB in 1997. Started playing tuba as a sophomore in high school in 1995.
Dave started playing the cornet and the trumpet in the 5th grade.

Grew up in Mt. Vernon, IA and graduated from high school there in 1998.
Dave got his Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Iowa in 2003 and his MBA from Nova Southeatern University in 2008.
Currently Dave is a project engineer for Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids

Dave says: "Before I joined the band, I would have to say my most memerable moment was seeing the New Zealand Brass Band. That concert really got me hooked on brass band music. The entire cornet line standing across the stage, playing Hora Stoccato by memory.
Then, since I have been in the band, my first NABBA competition in 1998. The band just moved up to Championship class and performed an amazing concert in Lexington, KY. The EIBB took second place behind Illinois. I have never witnessed anyone so excited for 2nd place...ever.
Playing a concert in North Liberty soon after my mom passed. After a tough week, it was great to get back with friends & family., I am a huge fan of the hymns that we play, especially when Dennis plays a solo. My favorite pieces include Hymn of the Highlands & Gaelforce."

Another picture of Dave is coming soon.

Dave is married and has a daughter. About them he says;"My wife is amazing. Alissa has put up with me in the EIBB for almost as long as I have known her. She sacrifices her Thursday night activities so I can attend rehearsals.
My daughter Evie was born in 2007. Evie provides almost all the entertainment I need and she keeps me pretty busy while Alissa works. When I do get time, I like to spend time outside."
